Trainers with runners today and tomorrow whose horses are running to form 

Find out who are the in-form race horse trainers in today's races and which trainers have the best RTF% (runs to form).

Trainers In Form - The Racing App

RTF% in horse racing is the &#8216;Ran To Form&#8217; percentage. It indicates the percentage of a trainer’s horses that had run to expected form in the previous month.
Uniquely, The Racing App have taken this concept a little further by weighting the performances based on their “recentness”. This means the contribution a performance that occurred yesterday makes to the RTF% of a given trainer is 30x that made by a performance occurring 31 days ago.
We then use these values to calculate the current probability of a trainer&#8217;s horses running to form, meaning the RTF% displayed on our racecards indicates the probability of a horse running to form given how recent runners from the yard have been performing.

Do horses representing trainers with good RTF%s perform better than those representing trainers with poor RTF%s?
Our research suggests it does.
We quantified the average underperformance of horses representing trainers against those trainers’ RTF%. Underperformance being defined as the difference between the rating we expected the horses to perform to and those they actually did perform to. We call this Expected v Observed. The average underperformance across all runners is about 9lb (based on all racing in Britain between 1 January 2015 and 1 January 2024, a very large sample.)
Our research suggests that you should be deducting as much as 4lb from the expected performance rating of horses from yards in very poor form and adding as much as 5lb to those in exceptional form.
